A Palmyra man passed out behind the wheel east of Palmyra was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana, less than one ounce, and possession of drug paraphernalia July 11. While being chased, a woman called the Nebraska City Police Department to report that she had been allegedly attacked by two Nebraska City women with rocks on July 13. According to an affidavit, the NCPD responded to the call at about 10:47 p.m. and met the female victim in the 10th Street and 7th Corso area. As a result of a traffic stop on Bluff Road on Feb. 18, 2016, James Thomas Hume of Sidney, Iowa was arrested on multiple charges after an incident. On Feb. 24, 2016, deputies with the Fremont County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit conducted anarcotics investigation in Bartlett resulting in Jacob Thorne, age 20 of Sidney, Iowa and Lionel Cawthon, age 35 of Omaha, Nebraska being arrested and charged with Using a Minor in a Drug Trade, a Class C Felony, Delivery of Marijuana (17 pounds) and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, both Class D Felonies.
